Merry Christmas again...

I wanted to separate the poems that I put on my blog last night. They were too close together and the post was really long. So here is another of my favorite Christmas poems.

The True Meaning Of Christmas:
Jesus Christ was born this day
So many years before
He came a servant to the lost
Though he was Lord of Lords
We celebrate this joyous time
Reflecting on His birth
Not born in a mansion, but a stable
As if He had no worth
He came so He could identify
With the human heart of man
And gave His life as a sacrifice
Offering a better plan
A plan that reconciles us back
To our loving Father God
Bringing hope and redemption from
Sins ruling iron rod
For this is the only reason that we
Should celebrate this day
To become focused on anything else
Would take the meaning away
So let’s arise with joy in our hearts
And share it with everyone
The meaning of Christmas will always be
The birth of Jesus – God’s son

I just want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years!!! Enjoy the time you get to spend with your family and try to remember what Christmas is truly about. Yes, it's fun to get gifts but there is more to Christmas then receiving gifts!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

I'm really excited about this Christmas. I know I'm not going to get much--that doesn't matter to me. What I'm excited about has nothing to do with gifts. First of all...I am home for good. That's very exciting to me, while I do still miss my close friends tremendously!!! :( I'm excited at all the time I've been able to spend with my family and all the time I will be able to spend with my family. I really didn't realize how much I've truly missed my family while I was in college. I'm just glad to be home! Second, I'm glad that Sarah, John, and Grayson moved back to Maine also! When I parted with Grayson during Thanksgiving it was very hard for me to do. I had already got attached to my new little man! It's weird how you can meet someone and love him instantly! That's how it was when I met Grayson! I have really enjoyed all the time I've been able to babysit him. He is such a happy go lucky little guy. He makes me laugh when I'm "talking" to him! It doesn't hurt him that he is so cute and cuddly!

Below are one of my favorite Christmas poems:
A Visit From St. Nicholas by Major Henry Livingston Jr.(previously believed to be by Clement Clarke Moore)

'Twas the night before Christmas', when all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that ST. NICHOLAS soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mama in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the creast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the luster of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
"Now, DASHER! now, DANCER! now, PRANCER and VIXEN!
On, COMET! on CUPID! on, DONDER and BLITZEN!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"
"As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
and he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowl full of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
Laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,
"HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT."

I'm officially home for good...

I flew out of Chicago Midway airport yesterday at about 8:00 pm. I am home for good. Believe it or not, I'm excited to be home. I'm also sad. I had to leave behind all my friends! Some of them were harder to leave then others! I've cried quite a bit the past week!!! It was really hard for me to leave! I have a lot of friends that I am really close to out there. I know everyone has to leave at some point but that didn't make it even easier. I don't like change at all. I wish everything could just stay the same but I know it doesn't work like that. It's just that I don't know when I will see my friends again and when you're used to seeing them everyday that's hard! I can't just run to one of their rooms when I'm having a bad day or I just want to see them. I know I can call them or even write them but it's not the same...not at all!!! It's just that so many friends grow apart when they separate and I definitely don't want that too happen!! :( Seeing how I was leaving for good...I have been taking a lot of pictures the last few weeks. Here they are in a slide show...

My birthday celebration at college...

Well...this is my first post since I've been back to college. I was not excited about coming back at all but it helped knowing I would see my friends and my bus kids. On Saturday night after we all got back from our bus routes, me and four of my friends went and celebrated my birthday. It wasn't my idea. Bethany asked me if I wanted to do anything for my birthday and I was like why not?!? So me, Bethany, Elizabeth, Julia, and Kim went to Red Robin to celebrate my birthday. It was a lot of fun!!! I didn't take very many pictures but I did take a few.
Good news...my bus route officially won. We go on the trip next Monday. I'm really excited and can't wait!!!

5 things I'm thankful for...

1) My Salvation. I'm thankful that I have a God who cares about everyone and died for everyone. That Heaven is a free gift and all you have to do in order to go to Heaven is believe Jesus died for you and ask Him to forgive you of your sins and He'll take you to Heaven when you die. That's amazing to me!!!

2)I'm thankful for my Family- my dad, mom, and two sisters, two brother in laws, and three nieces and two nephews. I'm thankful I was raised in a good Christian home, raised by two parents that love me and cared for my well-being. We never went without and were well fed and cared for. I have the greatest family in the world!!!

3)I'm thankful I went to a Christian School that was based on the Bible and was taught by teachers that cared about us and we weren't just another student to them. I'm thankful I was raised in the greatest church in the whole world, Calvary Baptist Church of Turner, Maine and that I have the greatest preacher, Pastor Steve Christner!

4)I'm thankful I have the greatest friends in the world. I can't imagine life without them! Just knowing that they're there for me whenever I need them means the world to me!

5) I'm thankful I go to the greatest Bible college in the world, Hyles-Anderson College. It's obvious they care about us as they train us to work in the ministry.

I finally got to meet my little man, Grayson!!!

Sarah, John, and baby Grayson flew into Portland on Thursday, Thanksgiving day. I went along with my sister Stacy to go pick them up. I was very excited because I was going to be able to meet my newest nephew!!! He was definately much cuter in person!!! (If that's even possible because he's adorable in all the pictures I have seen of him!) I have enjoyed holding him tremendously! He is a very happy baby.
Today while I was feeding him he decided that he would poop and then get it all over his auntie. It was all up his back. I had to wipe him down with wipes but I didn't mind at all!!! (He didn't even pee on me and he was without a diaper for a few minutes when I was wiping him off!) But after I finished feeding him, he threw up on me!!! :)
Here's a slideshow of some pictures I've taken of Grayson, so far. More will come later! :)

I go home today!!!!!

I can't believe the day is finally here. I leave at 2:00 pm to go home! I am so very excited!!! I packed last night after I got back from work.
About my bus route, as of last Saturday morning we are still in first place. This Sunday was Colossal Frisbee toss. There was about 8 different guys that got on top of a bus and threw frisbee's. Each frisbee that was thrown had a number on it. Each number represented a prize. After it w
as finished they would come turn their frisbee in and then they would get their prize. My division had over 1,000 prizes! Some of them included a dvd player, portable dvd player, i pod, digital camera, girls bike, boys bike, skateboard, scooter, and many other prizes!!! One of the girls on my bus won a scooter. My bus route had four buses. My bus alone had 54! That's the most we have had in our section! We had a good day. I think we had around 170 but I'm not sure on the final number. I was told by my bus captain that we won the contest but it's not for sure yet! I really want to win really bad!!! Here's a slideshow of the pictures I took on Sunday.

My second post for the week...

This is my second post for the week and it's two days in a row. Wow... don't count on that happening again. :) Just to let you know, birthday party Sunday is when we celebrate everyone's birthday that comes that day. Sorry I didn't explain it. It really helps because when kids say that it's their birthday you can say oh we already celebrated it. Remember birthday party Sunday? Plus it's something fun that gets the kids excited! Only six more days until I leave to go home!!! I'm really excited if you can't tell! :-) I can't wait to see everyone... especially Grayson! I can't wait to finally meet this handsome little man that I keep seeing pictures of!!! I hope he's ready to take lots of pictures!!!!! I miss everyone and can't wait to see you all!

Birthday party Sunday...

This Sunday was birthday party Sunday. My bus route ran two buses again. I'm not sure of the final total for the day but I think it was around 100. We had about 50 just on my bus, plus we have a few family's that drive in. Alina, Kiaralyn, and Giovanni came. I was so excited to see them!!! It felt like I hadn't seen them in forever!!! Both the girls insisted on sitting with me on the way to church and on the way back. Kiaralyn sat in my lap both ways and fell asleep! :) A couple of my other bus kids got mad at me because they weren't able to sit with me this week. Oh well. As of this past Saturday my bus route is in first place still. We have one more week to go!!! Here's a few pics from this past weekend! By the way only 7 more days before I leave to go home!!!

Candy Scramble Sunday...

Well, this Sunday was candy scramble Sunday. We had two buses again. Things went pretty good, better than they have been going. The mom with the four boys came back again and she brought one of her nieces with her. It's really exciting when you see adults come and they get involved. I think we had around 100 on my bus that day... I haven't heard the final number yet.Oh, I forgot to mention something. During the program every bus route is given a base number of riders for their route. Then the routes are split up into three different categories. First category are the routes that are the biggest. The next category are the next biggest routes. Then the third is the smallest routes. My bus route is in the second category. Each week, the route that has the most over the base wins the candy bar they are promoting that week. My bus route has won the last two weeks. They also list the standings of each category each week. The first couple of weeks we were in 4th place. The third week we moved to second place. Then last week my route ended up with 160 and we moved to first place! Well, the cool thing is at the end of the program each bus route that is in first place for each category wins. The girls on the routes get to go shopping to Gurney Mills and they all get $50. I have heard a lot about it and it's supposed to be a really cool place to go. Then we meet the guys for dinner that night. Well, my bus route really wants to win really bad. My bus route has never won anything so we are determined to win. Just pray that we do because that would be so awesome! I only got one picture for the week because my batteries in my camera died. The boys in the picture are Luis, Ariel, and David. They are some boys that ride my bus.

Chuck E Cheese

Well... this Sunday was Chuck E Cheese. I'm not sure if I spelled that right. This Sunday my bus route ran three buses. That's a little scary when you have only 12 workers, and two of them aren't going to be able to be there!!! On 89-3 A, my bus captain was on there, my male worker bro. Chris and a freshman lady worker, Ashley. On my bus 89-3 B, there was two of my male workers, Andrew and Zed, me and a lady worker from 89-8. On 89-3 C, there was two male workers, Daniel and David, and two lady workers, Jade and Sarah. On my bus we had a total of 53! I was really excited because that's the most that we have had in our section and we had the most out of all three buses! The total for the day was 158 on 89-3! That includes all the workers and the drive-ins. I was really excited!!!
There's these four boys that have been riding my bus for about three weeks. They are the cutest little boys!!! Stephen, the oldest one who's 9, always make sure he's sitting with me on the bus. Well, this Sunday their mom came a
nd she brought her little daughter with her and one of her friends. Well, the morning was kind of crazy and she got mad because our rental driver was taking off too fast. She told me that her sons would no longer be allowed to ride the bus. I was mad because I had just started to get attached to them! We dropped her off to church and then took all the kids to their Sunday School classes. After church we were getting all the kids on the bus and she had just gotten on the bus. She came up to me and said " You know how I told you that me and the boys were never coming back? Well, I changed my mind. I'll ride this crazy bus every Sunday to hear that Jack Schaap guy preach!" I was so excited to hear that! It was also amazing to hear her call someone and hear how excited she was about what happened in church that day!

Zoo Sunday!!!

Well...it's time for my weekly post! This past Sunday was Zoo Sunday. It went pretty well...better than most Zoo Sundays go for our bus route! We had two buses again. Our bus was a lot better this week! We have a new section leader and he knows how to handle the kids a lot better!!! Me and Chelsea had two visitors so that was good! After church we went to the zoo. They split up all the kids between all the workers. I ended up getting eight little kids to take all by myself! I was a little worried because some of the kids have a tendency to run off and go by them self. Well, they didn't run off. One girls Julissa went around the corner so I thought she had run off. She had my purse because she insisted on carrying it for me. I went around the corner and she was waiting there for me. I ended up carrying a different kid throughout the whole time we were at the zoo. (All their legs were getting tired!!!) Both of our buses ended up having 114! So all in all it was a really good day!
Below are pictures from Christian Womenhood. I helped out in Jr. Spec. It was a lot of fun! There was six different teams. I was on the orange reeses team! The girls were so cute and I enjoyed it very much! Oh and by the way I am still praying for Jordan to heal very quickly! I love him very much and hate to hear how much pain he is going through!!!!!

Rocket Launch Sunday...

I'm getting a lot better at doing updates on my blog. This past Sunday was Rocket launch Sunday. Me and My Soul-winning partner, Chelsea, had two visitors. We were supposed to have three more but their mom told us at the last moment that they couldn't come this Sunday.We were bummed out because we have been trying to get these kids to come for three weeks!!!!! Oh well, there's always the next week! Our Sunday started out kind-of rough. 89-2 another bus in our division didn't turn in their money for a bus this week. So, they crammed about 30 of their kids on our 2nd bus(which was the bus that I was on), plus about five of their workers. Well, we had about 35 of our own kids on our bus, plus five of our workers. There were seats with four and five people and a lot with three. It was packed out!!!!!
We get to church and we dropped of our teens and adults and then took our kids to City Baptist, where they have Sunday School and a Jr. church service. I had 15 girls in my Sunday School class. It was great!! They were so good! Then after my cl
ass one of my friends texted me and told me they had seen three of our bus kids at the other location where the other bus kids go. It was Kiaralyn, Giovanni, and Alina, which is my main family! The two girls were in my Sunday school class last year and we're very close. Kiaralyn, the youngest, often calls me mom! Well, I guess it turns out that they moved off of our route on to a different bus route. I was heart broken! These are my kids and now I most likely never see them because the route they are on are on a totally different schedule. I've cried a lot over this and its frustrating because I know that there is nothing I can do about it!
Not only that happened though. One of our teens brought three first time visitors. They're the cutest boys ever. One of the boys got punched in the face in teen center. So,
when we were loading all the kids on the bus he was missing. Then his younger two brothers started to get worried. Then after he came back we noticed that we were missing two other kids. It was a sister and a brother. What happened was they got off the bus in the morning when we dropped of the teens and went to the wrong Sunday School department. We ended up finding the little boy by himself! (He's only four!) Then about fifteen minutes later we found the sister! Talk about the craziest Sunday ever!!! It doesn't usually go like this but everything just seemed to go wrong! I was glad when all the kids were dropped of and we were done!!!

2nd picture- Xzavier, the middle brother of the new visitors.
3rd picture- Isaiah, the youngest brother of the new visitors.
4th picture- William and Isaiah. William was the one that was punched!

I have this picture of Jordan that I took while I was home for the summer. It was probably one of the last pictures that I took of him. I don't know why but I love this picture. I guess because it was before he was in so much pain. I really wish there was something I could do to make the pain go away! On Tuesday in chapel they announced the prayer request for Jordan. Many of my friends have come up to me and tell me they're praying for Jordan! Before the prayer request was announced, I had already asked a lot of my close friends to pray for Jordan. There's a couple thousand students at H.A.C. and many of them are praying for my little man to be healed!

Our fall program and some pics from college...

Well, this past Sunday started our fall program. This past Sunday was Goldfish Sunday. My bus route had two different buses. We had a pretty good day. Me and my soul-winning partner, Chelsea, had four visitors. That was very exciting!! Our bus route did a lot to promote Goldfish Sunday. We gave away Goldfish to every rider, we had pizza on the bus, and we also had a few different raffles. We raffled of a basketball, a fishtank, and a playstation 2. On the way home, a few of our male workers swallowed a goldfish. They kids love it when they swallow a goldfish. I only got to get one picture because my batteries in my camera died.
Not too much else has been going on. It's been really hard being at college while Jordan is going through so much pain. I wish so bad that I could be there for him. He's my little man!!! I've been praying for him so much and today I put a prayer request about him to get announced in chapel. A lot of my fiends that I already told are praying for him to be healed very quickly!
Here are some pics that I finally was able to put up.

Hey Everyone!!!

Well... it has been a very long time since I have been on here. Well... I've been back at college for about a month now. Things are going great, I guess. It's a lot different this year for me. It's something about being graduated and knowing that I don't have to necessary be here that makes it different and harder to stay. I do love it though. The first week we had camp week. That was a blast!!! They had eight different teams. My team was the Blue Venom. Each day we would have sessions split up by your class level. Then later we would have team competitions. It was soo much fun. Well, my team ended up winning this year! So, we get to have a pizza party sometime. Then classes started the week after. that's going great. My bus route is amazing. My soul-winning partner is a freshman this year. Her name is Chelsea. We have a lot of fun and this week we had two first time visitors. That was very exciting!!! My Sunday school class is going great. My girls love the Sunday school lessons I've been teaching them and they seem to learn a lot! After the lesson, I'll ask them questions and they seem to remember everything. It's amazing how much they have learned! I've taken lots of pictures which I'll have to put up another time because I have to go. But I miss everyone lots and can't wait to see them at Thanksgiving!! Especially Latoya, Jordan, Kelsey, and Kaylee!!!!

My last entry before going back to college

Well... today was a hard day!!! I knew it would be before it even came. I tried to prepare myself before it came but I don't think I did a very good job at all! Today was my last day with my nieces and nephew... talk about hard. But before I talk about today, I want to talk about yesterday. Yesterday was a VERY FUN DAY!!! We left at 5:00 am to go to Portland to ride the train to Boston. All the kids were very excited and I was even excited, too. :) It was a 2 and a half hour train ride. The train was HUGE!!! And it was mostly empty, so that was nice, We got to sit back and relax a little as the kids stared out the windows. Then Kelsey and Kaylee started running around so there went the relaxing. Oh well. We got to Boston and then we had ride a couple of trains to get to the Boston aquarium. We got there around 10:00 am I believe. We first went to the Jelly fish exhibit. That was really cool. It reminded me a lot of Finding Nemo. (I love that movie!!) Then we went and looked at some penguins. They were so cute- I thought so! Kelsey was excited because she told me before that she wanted to see penguins. Then it was around 11:00 am so it was time for lunch. We ate at their cafe. The food was good and wasn't that bad priced. Then we went back to looking back at the animals. We went back to the penguins. Then they have this circular walkway with a huge tank in the middle. In that tank they have sharks, sting rays, sea turtles, a bunch of fish, and other cool sea animals. It goes around maybe 5 or 6 times and they have windows where you can look at the animals. Then at the top they have some stairs. If you go up the stairs you can look down into the tank of animals. It was fun to see them swim up at the top of the water. I was at the top with my niece Latoya and she yelled, " Hey, Auntie, there's a really big sea turtle at the bottom of the tank!" I looked down. it took me awhile to find it because it blended in with the rocks. It''s name was Myrtle. I forgot how old it was but the sign up top said it weighed almost 500 lbs!!! There was also a few sea turtle swimming on top spitting out water. That was cool. After we were done looking at the animals, we went to the Imax theatre. I was really excited about that. I've heard a lot about them and have been wanting to go for a long time but just never have gone. We went to the 2:00 pm show about sea animals. I was sooo cool. It made it seem that everything was right in front of your face. i jumped a few times and screamed when a shark came out. It really looked like it was gonna eat us! The kids all got scared and hid their faces most of the time!!! The had a preview for a dinosaurs movie which looked like fun. Even more jumpy which I love to go see sometime. We got McDonald's for supper and rode the train back home. I stopped in at my Grandma's house to say bye to her real quick. Then we headed home and got here around 10:00. All the kids slept over for the last time with me since I'm going back to college. I gave them all a shower this morning and we were all ready by 10:00. What a accomplishment!!! Then I taught Sunday School in cubbies for the last time. Then we all hung out at the house until church. Then after church I went to get Kelsey and Kaylee from cubbies and that was when I started crying. then they all came to the house to say bye to me and I cried some more. It's so hard leaving them. But I'm okay now. I am excited to see my friends. I called 3 or 4 of them tonight and I felt better. Then I get to see my bus kids and my Sunday School girls this weekend!!! Yeah! I'll try to update my blog as much as possible while I'm at college but I'm not sure how often I'll be able to do it. I'm hoping to do it once a week on my day off of work. We'll just have to see how it works out. But I'll keep you posted some how. Anyways here's some pictures from Saturday. Enjoy them!!!

Updates on my blog entries

If you want updates on when I add something to my page, put in your email address in the space provided. It's under my favorite sites that I read. I got the idea from my sister Stacy and I thought it would be good to do since I'm going back to college. I'm not sure how often I'll get to do new posts so this is perfect for me. Anyways, I hope you add your email!

Wow... it's been forever since my last post. I've been really busy with work and getting ready to go back to college. I can't believe I'm actually going back. When I graduated last May I thought about going back but it wasn't a definite thing. It depended a lot on how my summer went and if I could earn enough money to go back. Well, I have earned enough money so I'm going back for one more year-- my last year for real this time!!! :) I'm kinda excited, though. I get to see all my friends in about four days!! I have a lot of friends at H.A.C. and I've really missed them. Then next Saturday I get to see my bus kids. Yeah!!! I have really missed them soooooooo much! Then next Sunday I get to see my Sunday School girls and teach them. I've really missed them, 2! As excited as I am to go back, I also am very sad. I have to leave my family yet once again. It's hard and it never gets easier either. The hardest ones to leave are my twin nieces, Kelsey and Kaylee, my nephew Jordan, and my oldest niece, Latoya. It's hard to leave my Mom and I can't forget my dog!!! :) I love my dog Copper. It's hard to leave everyone actually and the comfort of home. Oh well, I really think I should go back for one more year so I'm going to but after that I'm done!! Yeah!

My week and a gigantic cucumber

Well... my week has been okay kind of boring. My parents left for North Carolina last Tuesday afternoon. Last week was also when I had the problem with my mouth and I couldn't hardly eat. I waited until Saturday to go to the doctor's office to see what was wrong with my mouth. It's been interesting staying by myself in my house-- it's too big for just one person to live here. I go to work at 6:15 am and don't usually get back until 4 pm. I had the Latoya and Jordan sleep over Wednesday night and they spent the day with me on Thursday. (my day off) After work on Friday, Stacy and the kids picked me up and we went to Augusta. We went out to eat at Red Robbin... Yummy. Except for the fact that it still hurt like crazy just to open my mouth half a inch!!! I got a banzai burger. All their burgers are huge so I could not eat it. I ate about one fourth of it by taking little baby bites that still hurt my mouth! We also went to Walmart and Kohl's. Saturday I was supposed to work but I didn't. I made a doctor's appointment for 9 that morning. Stacy brought me over there for my appointment. We also went to Gray Animal Farm that morning and that night we went to the balloon festival. Sunday was church and then we went to the balloon festival that night which I already wrote about. Monday I worked. Tuesday after work, I was watering the plants and I picked her cucumbers. There was one 9 inches long and 3 inches wide. I couldn't believe it... it was huge!!!! My mom's cucumber's are usually about half that size! Anyways here's a few pictures of it so you can see how huge it is! Well... it's gone now the kids ate it the other night-- they love cucumbers!!!
